| Department of Biochemistry, University of Zurich Research Assistant (Laboratory Technician) 60 % The research group headed by Prof. Susanne Kassube at the University of Zurich, Switzerland, is looking for a talented, goal-driven and team-oriented co-worker to join as a research assistant (laboratory technician) . Research in the Kassube group focuses on understanding the molecular mechanisms of Fe-S protein biogenesis and DNA repair. The research assistant will contribute to these activities by providing general and project-specific laboratory support. Your responsibilities Management of laboratory inventory and logistics support General maintenance of lab equipment Independent preparation of laboratory reagents, cell culture media, agar plates, competent cells Recombinant DNA technology (plasmid DNA minipreps, PCR, restriction enzyme cloning) Expression of recombinant proteins in bacteria (E. coli) and insect cells Protein purification using chromatographic techniques Your profile Bachelor or Master degree (University or Fachhochschule) in biochemistry or a related field, OR completed vocational training as a laboratory technician (EFZ Laborant/in, Fachrichtung Biologie o.
